Why Do Deer Have Antlers? π¦
Brik and Lumi spend one whole day, from a starlit autumn thicket at night to golden sunrise to sunset and back to starlight, discovering why a buck grows such huge, branching antlers. Under the stars they meet Birch the buck, doe Hazel, and fawn Clover, weathering a sudden night storm before building The Starlit Autumn Thicket. At sunrise they raise The Velvet Antler Growing Tower and learn only bucks grow antlers. By noon they weather a second storm at The Antler-Point Counting Bridge and count colorful fallen leaves, and at night they build The Starlight Autumn Campfire where the whole family rests together.

0:00Why Do Deer Have Antlers?
LumiHave you ever wondered why some deer carry such huge antlers?
BrikWatch closely, and our whole antler answer begins right now.
BrikBrik points to a sleepy deer bedded down among the leaves.
LumiNot one branch on those antlers grows quite like another tonight.
BrikThis beautiful world has a Maker. He is God the Father, and He Himself wants us to call Him Father.
LumiGood morning, dear friends! We are Brik and Lumi, and today we got up very early to watch the sunrise together.
BrikLook, the stars are still shining, and in a few minutes the sun will come up just for us.
LumiOpen your eyes wide and come along, today something special is waiting.
BrikCan you say deer? Deer.
LumiAll around, the autumn trees glow soft yellow, orange, and red tonight.
BrikGod the Father loves you just as you are, and He is waiting for each of you in Heaven.
LumiEvery leaf on these trees is turning its own beautiful color right now.
BrikEven in darkness, Birch's huge antlers rise proud above his sleepy head.
LumiDeer! Can you say deer? Deer.
BrikThe whole thicket stays hushed and warm, safe under the wide night sky.
LumiResting like this, Birch tucks his legs beneath the crunchy leaves.
2:00What Is Inside the Starlit Autumn Thicket?
BrikNot one deer in this thicket ever loses its own antlers while sleeping.
BrikThe Lord Jesus came to us from Heaven to show us the way to true joy.
LumiResting so still means every deer saves up energy for a new day.
BrikA little fawn! Can you say fawn? Fawn, a baby deer with soft white spots.
LumiHer name is Clover, and she has no antlers at all, not even one.
BrikThe whole thicket waits patiently.
LumiCan you wait quietly too?
BrikNot one star stops twinkling.
LumiClover leans into Hazel's warm side, safe beside her gentle mother.
BrikThe stars above the autumn thicket blink, calm and perfectly still tonight.
LumiMary, the Queen of Heaven, is a Mother to every one of us and never forgets us.
BrikCan you say cozy? It means warm, soft, and safe for resting.
LumiResting cozy is one comfort, and every deer finds its own way.
BrikEvery deer in this thicket feels safe and warm beside the others nearby.
LumiNot one falling leaf ever makes a single deer jump tonight.
BrikLook, a big dark cloud rolls in fast, covering every star.
LumiThe whole night turns thick and heavy, the warm air goes still.
4:05How Many Seconds Until the Thunder Arrives?
BrikThere! A bright flash of lightning lights up the whole dark thicket.
LumiLet's count together until we hear the thunder: one, two, three.
BrikAnd there is the rumble! Light always reaches us before the sound does.
LumiCome here, little Giggles, you are safe with us, beside Brik's own feet.
BrikDon't be scared, Giggles β thunder is only lightning's own big, booming voice.
LumiA hedgehog nearby curls up tight into one small, prickly little ball.
BrikDown by a puddle, a frog sings its croaky song through the rain.
LumiBirch and Hazel stay calm, standing steady among the falling autumn leaves.
BrikNot one raindrop tonight ever needs to frighten a calm, gentle deer.
LumiListen, the heavy rain is already softening, drop by gentle drop.
BrikThe clouds are thinning fast, and one by one the stars peek through.
LumiLet's build somewhere warm and dry, right where the whole family can rest.
BrikLook what we are building today, come closer and watch with us!
LumiA cozy little thicket, tucked warm beneath the colorful autumn trees.
BrikWe are calling it The Starlit Autumn Thicket.
LumiFrom up here, every sleepy deer rests soft and low under the moonlight.
LumiBlock by block, slowly, and it is already growing taller.
BrikLeaf by leaf, and branch by branch, rising warm against the dark.
BrikClover hops closer, her own small legs still wobbly beside the new thicket.
BrikIt is finished! Look how beautiful it turned out.
LumiThe Starlit Autumn Thicket is finished, glowing quietly under the night sky.
BrikFrom here, we can watch the whole family resting safe through the quiet night.
LumiAnd now a riddle, listen carefully.
LumiBrik counted every sleepy deer resting quietly in the thicket tonight.
BrikHow many deer are resting in the thicket tonight?
BrikTake your time, it is good to think a little longer.
LumiWell done, exactly right! I heard how beautifully you answered.
LumiThree resting deer, curled up quiet. One, two, three.
BrikThree gentle deer, and every one of them saves up energy for tomorrow.
BrikTime to get to work, and work is much nicer when we do it together.
BrikOne small lantern, glowing softly beside the little thicket.
LumiWe are calling it The First Thicket Lantern.
BrikIts warm little glow lights up Birch's own sleepy face just enough to see.
LumiWe did it, and we did it together.
LumiThe First Thicket Lantern is ready, one more will soon glow beside it.
BrikTime for a question, think for a moment.
BrikBrik counted every bright star twinkling above the autumn thicket.
8:20Why Is the Sky Turning Gold Over the Forest?
LumiHow many bright stars are twinkling over the thicket tonight?
LumiHave a think, we will wait for you.
BrikBravo, that is it! You are real Dream Builders.
LumiFive bright stars, shining softly. One, two, three, four, five.
BrikFive little stars, watching gently over the whole sleepy thicket below.
BrikCan you say content? It means calm and happy, with nothing to worry about.
LumiA resting deer is almost always content, snug beside those she loves.
LumiBring the blocks, dear builders, we are starting something new.
LumiOne tall, thin tower, built from smooth wood beside the little thicket.
BrikWe are calling it The Thicket-Light Watch Tower.
LumiClimb up, and you can watch over the whole forest, calm as a resting deer.
BrikIt is finished! Look how beautiful it turned out.
BrikThe Thicket-Light Watch Tower stands tall, and Lumi waves gently from the top.
LumiOh, Giggles, real antlers grow light and strong from the inside, not tied on with vine.
BrikHe grins at his tangled sticks and happily hunts for a lighter pair to try.
LumiThe thicket settles back into its calm, quiet dark.
BrikWhat a curious start to our very long day.
LumiIf you like what we built, show us a thumbs up!
BrikCan you say curious? Curious.
LumiLook what we are building today, come closer and watch with us!
BrikOne small bridge, leading toward the edge where the sun will soon rise.
LumiWe are calling it The Dawn Autumn Bridge.
BrikIts planks glow pale gold, leading toward the morning light.
BrikWe did it, and we did it together.
LumiThe Dawn Autumn Bridge is ready, and Clover is already standing at the end.
BrikLook, past the trees, the deep dark sky is starting to change.
LumiIt turns from deep black to a soft shade of grey.
BrikThe stars are fading, one by one, like candles going out.
LumiWatch closely, the sky is starting to glow soft and warm.
11:40What Is the Velvet Antler Growing Tower?
BrikA thin golden line is growing wider along the horizon.
LumiOne by one, the sleepy deer stir, ready for the day.
BrikLook, the sun is climbing higher and the whole world is turning golden.
LumiThe whole forest is waking up in gold, right before our eyes.
BrikGood morning, sleepy forest! The sun is finally, wonderfully, all the way up.
LumiThe very last cool shadow fades, and the leaves glow bright autumn colors.
BrikCan you say golden? Golden.
LumiNow, in the light of this brand new day, let's solve our whole antler mystery.
BrikWhy does a happy buck like Birch carry such huge, branching antlers?
LumiLet's watch Birch lift his great antlers proudly in the morning sun for the first time.
BrikBirch lifts his whole head high, and warm sunlight catches every branch of his antlers.
LumiThat proud, gentle lift means: good morning, whole forest, a brand new day has begun!
LumiTime to get to work, and work is much nicer when we do it together.
LumiOne round flower bed, opening its petals in the very first warm light.
BrikWe are calling it The Morning Maple-Leaf Flower Bed.
LumiIts petals glow yellow, orange, and red, shaped just like little maple leaves.
BrikIt is finished! Look how beautiful it turned out.
BrikThe Morning Maple-Leaf Flower Bed is ready, glowing warm in the early light.
LumiCan you say velvet? Velvet is the soft, fuzzy skin covering a growing antler.
BrikUnderneath that soft velvet, Birch's own antlers are actually fast-growing living bone.
LumiThe morning breeze carries the crisp smell of fallen leaves through the forest.
BrikHazel the doe ambles closer, her own smooth head bare of any antlers.
LumiOnly bucks like Birch grow antlers; does like Hazel never grow them at all.
BrikGood morning, Hazel! Did you know Birch's antlers will fall off and regrow next year?
LumiHazel flicks her tail, curious, and settles down close to listen.
LumiHere comes a riddle, say the answer out loud!
BrikBrik counted every content deer gathered near the tall old oak.
LumiHow many deer are gathered near the oak tree?
BrikTake your time, it is good to think a little longer.
LumiWonderful, you got it! I am so proud of you.
BrikSix content deer, resting together. One, two, three, four, five, six.
LumiSix gentle deer, and every single one wears its own bright autumn coat.
BrikLet's build somewhere big, right where the whole forest can see our giant answer.
BrikBring the blocks, dear builders, we are starting something new.
LumiA giant, blocky tower, wrapped in soft velvet from its base to its top.
BrikWe are calling it The Velvet Antler Growing Tower.
16:10Why Doesn't Hazel the Doe Have Antlers?
LumiOne whole side shows fast-growing bone, branching wider with every level.
LumiSee how nicely it fits, one block sitting neatly on another.
BrikBranch by branch, and level by level, rising taller with the morning sun.
LumiThe other side shows the soft velvet, fuzzy and warm to the touch.
BrikBirch stands right beside the tower, his own antlers matching its branching shape.
BrikWe did it, and we did it together.
LumiThe Velvet Antler Growing Tower is finished, and Birch admires it, proud and tall.
BrikCan you say bone? Bone is the hard, strong part inside a body that helps it stand.
LumiAntlers are the fastest-growing bone of any animal, growing a little every single day.
BrikOnce fully grown, that soft velvet slowly dries up and rubs away all on its own.
LumiCan you say shed? Shed means to lose something old to make room for something new.
BrikEvery single year, Birch will shed his whole antlers and grow back an even bigger pair.
LumiUnlike a horn, which stays forever on an animal, an antler always falls off and comes back new.
LumiAnd now a riddle, listen carefully.
LumiBrik counted every branching point on Birch's own great antlers.
BrikHow many branching points does Birch have on his antlers?
BrikHave a think, we will wait for you.
LumiWell done, exactly right! I heard how beautifully you answered.
BrikFour branching points, counted carefully. One, two, three, four.
LumiFour points, and next year, after they fully regrow, he may even grow a fifth.
BrikTime for a question, think for a moment.
LumiBrik looked closely at Hazel's whole smooth head, searching for antlers.
BrikDoes Hazel the doe have any antlers on her head at all?
LumiTake your time, it is good to think a little longer.
BrikBravo, that is it! You are real Dream Builders.
BrikNot even one; Hazel's own head stays smooth and bare all year long.
LumiOnly bucks like Birch ever grow antlers; every single doe in the forest goes without.
LumiOh, Giggles, counting goes so much easier when the antlers hold still for you.
BrikHe grins, finally finished counting, and happily claps for his own hard work.
LumiThe forest settles back into its warm, sunny calm.
LumiLook what we are building today, come closer and watch with us!
BrikFour little steps, each one painted with one more antler point than the last.
LumiWe are calling it The Four Antler-Point Steps.
BrikStep up slowly, counting each painted point, all the way to the top.
BrikWe are not in a hurry, because things made carefully last the longest.
LumiOne point, two points, three points, then four, growing wider with every step.
20:40What Is Inside the Antler-Point Counting Bridge?
LumiIt is finished! Look how beautiful it turned out.
BrikThe Four Antler-Point Steps are finished, and Lumi hops up every single one.
LumiCan you say strength? Strength means how strong and powerful a body can be.
BrikBucks gently push their own antlers together to test each other's strength safely.
BrikTime to get to work, and work is much nicer when we do it together.
LumiOne small table, set right beside the tower, holding one soft velvet swatch.
BrikWe are calling it The Velvet-Touch Table.
LumiTouch the soft velvet swatch, and feel just how fuzzy a growing antler is.
LumiWe did it, and we did it together.
BrikThe Velvet-Touch Table is ready, and Hazel sniffs it, curious too.
BrikThe sun is climbing high above the forest now, warm on every single leaf.
LumiThe sun is high above us, it is exactly noon, time for a little rest.
BrikLet us sit down for a moment and listen to how beautifully quiet it is around us.
LumiLet's rest a moment here in the warm midday sun, listening to the forest hum softly.
BrikLet's follow the warm midday sun, over to where a long bridge waits.
LumiPast the tower, the ground opens wide, right beside a long wooden bridge.
BrikLeave a thumbs up if you are enjoying building with us, it helps other children find us.
LumiLook, the whole bridge sparkles in bright, strong midday sunlight.
BrikThis is the best time to test one more part of our antler mystery.
LumiCan you say gentle push? A gentle push tests strength without ever hurting anyone.
23:20Why Are the Autumn Leaves So Colorful?
LumiLet's build somewhere long, right where we can count every antler point.
BrikBring the blocks, dear builders, we are starting something new.
BrikA long wooden bridge, its railings carved into branching antler shapes.
LumiWe are calling it The Antler-Point Counting Bridge.
BrikFrom here, we can count every single branching point along the whole railing.
LumiA little more and it will be ready, do you like it so far?
LumiPlank by plank, and point by point, stretching further across the clearing.
BrikBirch and another young buck gently press their antlers together to test strength.
BrikIt is finished! Look how beautiful it turned out.
LumiThe Antler-Point Counting Bridge is finished, and neither buck is ever hurt at all.
LumiHere comes a riddle, say the answer out loud!
BrikLook, out of nowhere, one big dark cloud is rolling in fast over the forest.
LumiThe sky turns heavy, and every animal nearby quietly tucks itself away.
BrikA pink bunny dashes beneath a low bush, ears flat, waiting for the storm to pass.
LumiThere! A bright flash of lightning splits the whole sky over the forest.
BrikLet's count the seconds together until we hear its own thunder arrive.
BrikHave a think, we will wait for you.
LumiWonderful, you got it! I am so proud of you.
LumiAbout three whole seconds passed between the flash and its own rumbling thunder.
BrikThe farther away a storm is, the longer we count before the thunder arrives.
LumiCome here, little Giggles, safe and dry right beside Brik's own steady feet.
BrikBirch and Hazel stand close together, sheltered beneath the colorful autumn trees.
LumiClover tucks herself right between her mother's legs, calm and unafraid.
BrikThe rain drums steady on the falling leaves, and puddles spread across the clearing.
LumiNot one drop of this whole rain ever needs to frighten a calm, brave deer.
BrikListen, the heavy rain is already softening, drop by gentle drop.
LumiThe dark clouds are thinning fast, breaking apart in only a few seconds.
BrikLook up β a whole bright rainbow is arching over the colorful forest!
LumiCan you say rainbow? Rainbow.
BrikGiggles claps his hands, delighted the whole sky turned calm and bright again.
LumiLook how the rain washed every fallen leaf clean and bright along the bridge.
BrikAutumn leaves turn yellow, orange, and red when summer's green fades away.
BrikAnd now a riddle, listen carefully.
LumiBrik counted every colorful leaf resting along the bridge's whole railing.
BrikHow many colorful leaves are resting on the bridge railing?
LumiTake your time, it is good to think a little longer.
BrikWell done, exactly right! I heard how beautifully you answered.
BrikSeven bright leaves, counted carefully. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven.
LumiSeven leaves, yellow, orange, and red, resting after today's warm rain.
LumiTwo pink bunnies hop out from their burrow, testing the fresh, damp grass.
BrikThey sit up tall on their back legs, ears twitching at every new sound.
LumiNot one bunny in this whole forest ever strays far from its own family.
LumiLook what we are building today, come closer and watch with us!
LumiOne spinning pinwheel, right beside the bridge, catching every fresh breeze.
BrikWe are calling it The Bridge Breeze Pinwheel.
LumiA cool breeze sends a few loose leaves spinning across the sunny clearing.
BrikWe did it, and we did it together.
BrikThe Bridge Breeze Pinwheel spins gently, and Hazel watches it turn round.
LumiTime to get to work, and work is much nicer when we do it together.
BrikOne small signpost, pointing one way to the thicket, one way to the bridge.
LumiWe are calling it The Thicket-Or-Bridge Signpost.
BrikOne arrow points home to the trees, the other points to the counting bridge.
BrikIt is finished! Look how beautiful it turned out.
LumiThe Thicket-Or-Bridge Signpost is ready, and Lumi reads it out loud, delighted.
BrikCan you say impress? Impress means to show something so others admire it.
LumiA big, bold set of antlers helps one buck impress the whole herd around him.
BrikThe whole clearing feels peaceful, bright, and wonderfully unhurried after the rain.
LumiOh, Giggles, even your own pretend antlers know just when it is time to shed.
BrikHe grins from the leaf pile, delighted his branches shed just like a real antler.
LumiThe clearing settles back into its warm, sunny calm.
LumiThe sun is starting to lean low, painting the whole forest gold.
BrikLet's follow the low, golden sun back toward the thicket and the whole family.
LumiBack near the thicket, the whole sky is turning a deep, glowing orange and pink.
BrikLook, the sunset sky glows the same warm gold as the velvet-touch table.
LumiCan you say sunset? It is when the sun goes down low in the sky.
BrikCan you say dusk? It is the soft, quiet time just before full dark.
BrikAs the great sun sinks low, the whole herd will soon gather to rest.
LumiLet's watch the sky turn deeper.
BrikIts whole glow fades slow and gentle.
LumiBring the blocks, dear builders, we are starting something new.
LumiOne cozy little shelter, tucked safely beneath the tallest autumn tree.
BrikWe are calling it The Little Fawn Shelter.
LumiInside, soft fallen leaves wait, ready for a tired little fawn to rest.
BrikWe did it, and we did it together.
BrikThe Little Fawn Shelter is ready, and Clover peeks through its window.
LumiClover peeks out from the little shelter, watching the sky turn gold.
LumiLet's build one last place, right where the whole herd can rest together tonight.
LumiLook what we are building today, come closer and watch with us!
BrikA wide, welcoming circle, ringed with lanterns around a warm, crackling campfire.
LumiWe are calling it The Starlight Autumn Campfire.
BrikOne by one, its lanterns glow, each one warmer than the last.
BrikBlock by block, slowly, and it is already growing taller.
LumiLog by log, and lantern by lantern, slowly filling with today's very last golden light.
BrikDeer drift closer, drawn to the warm, friendly glow of the whole clearing.
LumiClover watches every lantern glow, curled warm between Birch and Hazel.
33:50What Is Inside the Starlight Autumn Campfire?
BrikThe clearing glows warmer and warmer with every lantern that switches on around the fire.
LumiIt is finished! Look how beautiful it turned out.
LumiThe Starlight Autumn Campfire is finished, glowing warm under the very first stars.
BrikLook, it is dark again now, just like at the start of our day.
LumiBut this time, we know exactly why a happy buck carries such huge antlers.
BrikFast-growing bone under soft velvet, shed and regrown every single year.
LumiListen to the thicket grow quiet.
BrikCan you say gentle? Gentle.
LumiGentle just means soft and careful, like every rest spot in this whole clearing.
BrikNot one deer in the whole herd ever loses its own family tonight.
BrikTime for a question, think for a moment.
LumiBrik counted every glowing orange cloud drifting across the sunset sky.
BrikHow many orange clouds are floating over the forest?
LumiHave a think, we will wait for you.
BrikBravo, that is it! You are real Dream Builders.
LumiFour glowing clouds, drifting slowly. One, two, three, four.
BrikFour soft clouds, glowing orange and pink over the whole quiet forest.
LumiHere comes a riddle, say the answer out loud!
BrikBrik switched on one glowing lantern after another, all around the campfire.
LumiHow many lanterns are lit up around the campfire tonight?
BrikTake your time, it is good to think a little longer.
LumiWonderful, you got it! I am so proud of you.
BrikNine glowing lanterns, lit up in a row. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine.
LumiNine warm little lights, and the whole clearing glows softly and gently under the stars.
BrikTime to get to work, and work is much nicer when we do it together.
LumiOne small wooden bench, facing straight toward the whole glowing campfire.
BrikWe are calling it The Antler-Watching Bench.
LumiSit here quietly, and watch Birch's great antlers glow soft against the dark sky.
LumiWe did it, and we did it together.
BrikThe Antler-Watching Bench is ready, and Lumi is already curled up, watching.
LumiBrik pats the little bench gently, proud of the whole long day.
BrikCan you say proud? Proud. We built and learned so much today.
BrikCan you say patient? It means waiting calmly, even when it takes a while.
LumiBirch waited patiently all summer long for his own antlers to grow so big.
BrikClover will grow her own antlers one day too, if she becomes a buck herself.
LumiBrik nods, admiring how such a huge crown can grow back new every year.
BrikNot one single deer in the herd ever rushes its own growing up.
LumiThe whole clearing hums soft and warm, ready for one more peaceful night.
LumiOh, Giggles, a crown of leaves was never going to stay put like a real antler.
BrikHe grins, watching his leafy crown blow away, and happily curls up without it.
LumiThe clearing glows warm and steady once again.
BrikGive us a thumbs up if you want to see the next episode!
BrikAnd now a riddle, listen carefully.
LumiTwo deer rested near the campfire at sunset, then three more by full dark.
BrikHow many deer rested altogether tonight?
LumiHave a think, we will wait for you.
BrikWell done, exactly right! I heard how beautifully you answered.
LumiTwo and three makes five. One, two, three, four, five.
BrikCan you say altogether? Altogether.
LumiFive resting deer, and every single antler glows soft in the light of the fire.
BrikThe stars above blink softly, joining the lanterns below.
LumiEvery single deer tells its own tiny story of today.
BrikCan you say wonderful? It means so good it makes you smile.
LumiWhat a wonderful, colorful day this has been for our whole gentle herd.
BrikOne proud lift of antlers, one brave storm, and every leaf glowing warm tonight.
LumiBrik counts today's whole adventure on his fingers, smiling at every part.
BrikLumi glows a little brighter, proud of everything they built.
LumiA pink bunny settles down quiet near the thicket too, resting at last.
BrikSo why does a happy buck really carry such huge, branching antlers? Now you know.
LumiFast-growing bone, wrapped in soft velvet, builds a whole new crown every year.
BrikUnlike a horn, an antler always sheds, making room for an even bigger one next time.
LumiAnd bucks gently press their antlers together, just testing who is strongest today.
BrikEven little Clover may grow her own one day, if she becomes a buck herself.
BrikThe clearing is calm and glowing, and every lantern shines steady through the night.
LumiBirch stands watch a moment longer, his antlers dark against the starry sky.
BrikHazel rests close beside Clover, calm beneath the quiet trees.
LumiClover tucks herself warm between them both, safe and content.
BrikA pink bunny hops home to its own low, cozy burrow, safe for the night.
LumiThe whole clearing feels safe, warm, and truly ready for a new night.
42:20Why Do Deer Really Have Antlers? The Whole Answer
LumiEvery single deer found its own warm, steady place to rest tonight.
BrikEven little Clover the fawn has finally settled down to rest for the night.

BrikSo remember, fast-growing bone, soft velvet, and a brand new crown every year.
LumiThe clearing glows soft and warm one last time, calm under the bright stars.
LumiGiggles waves from far away before he disappears for the night, and the little bells on his cap ring softly.
BrikBye bye! Sleep sweetly, our dear friends.
