How Do Watermelons Grow? 🍉

Brik and Lumi spend one whole day, from a sleeping sandy melon patch at night through a surprise storm, a golden sunrise, and a warm harvest campfire evening, watching a tiny dusted flower slowly grow into a great big striped watermelon. Under the stars they meet Coco the hen tucking her chicks in, while a night storm sends Giggles curling up round like a melon for comfort. At sunrise they meet Bubu the duck and raise The Great Vine-To-Vine Melon Boardwalk, learning how a flower becomes a marble, then a melon. By noon they build The Counting Melon-Slice Carousel to see the sweet red flesh inside, weather a distant storm safely, and gather at night at The Sunset Melon-Patch Campfire for their very first harvest.
